Safety Instructions
WARNING! Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or damage.
- Weight Limit: Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 50 kg (110 lbs).
- Two-Person Lift: The frame and basin are heavy. Always use two people for assembly and installation.
- Stable Surface: Assemble on a clean, flat, stable surface to prevent tipping.
- Secure Mounting: If attaching to the wall, ensure you drill into solid wall material (studs or masonry). Use the provided wall anchors correctly.
- Check Stability: After assembly and before use, check all connections are tight and the stand does not wobble.
Assembly Steps
Follow these steps in order. Do not fully tighten bolts until instructed.
- Attach Legs to Frame: Lay the main upright frame (101) on its side. Align the adjustable legs (102) to the pre-drilled holes at the base. Insert the provided bolts and hand-tighten.
- Install Cross Support: Attach the cross support bar (103) between the two legs using the smaller bolts. This adds lateral stability.
- Attach Mounting Brackets: Slide the mounting bracket set (104) onto the top of the upright frame. Align the holes and secure with the adjustment knobs (105), but do not fully tighten yet.
- Install Rubber Feet: Press the rubber feet (107) firmly into the holes at the bottom of each leg.
- Tighten All Connections: Once the stand is upright, use your wrench to fully tighten all bolts and knobs. Ensure the frame is square and does not rock.
Tip: Keep the packaging until assembly is complete in case you need to identify a part.
Installation to Wall
For added stability, the stand can be secured to a wall.
- Position Stand: Place the assembled stand in its final location against the wall.
- Mark Drill Points: Using a pencil, mark the wall through the holes in the upper mounting brackets.
- Drill Holes: Move the stand aside. Drill holes at your marks using a drill bit appropriate for your wall type and the provided wall anchors.
- Insert Anchors: Tap the plastic wall anchors into the drilled holes with a hammer.
- Secure Stand: Reposition the stand. Align the bracket holes with the wall anchors and drive in the provided screws. Do not overtighten.
- Check Level: Use a spirit level on top of the mounting brackets to ensure the stand is perfectly level. Adjust the adjustable legs if necessary.
Height Adjustment
The stand height can be adjusted before mounting the basin.
- Loosen the four adjustment knobs (105) on the mounting brackets.
- Gently lift or lower the bracket assembly to the desired height. The range is typically 80-95 cm from the floor.
- Ensure both sides are even. Use a tape measure from the floor to the bracket on each side.
- Once level, re-tighten all adjustment knobs securely.
Mounting the Basin
CAUTION! This step requires two people. The basin is fragile and heavy.
- Prepare Basin: Ensure your IKEA basin has its mounting hardware (usually purchased separately) ready.
- Lift and Position: With help, carefully lift the basin and lower it onto the mounting brackets of the stand.
- Align and Secure: Align the basin's pre-drilled holes or mounting channels with the brackets. Use the basin's own mounting screws or clips to secure it firmly to the brackets.
- Connect Plumbing: Only after the basin is secure, connect the water supply lines and drain according to your basin's and local plumbing codes.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care will ensure long-lasting use.
- Cleaning: Wipe the metal frame with a soft, damp cloth. Dry immediately. Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner if needed. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive pads.
- Check Tightness: Periodically (every 6 months) check that all bolts, knobs, and wall screws are tight.
- Inspect for Damage: Look for signs of rust, corrosion, or bending, especially at joints and load-bearing points.
- Rubber Feet: Check that rubber feet are intact and not worn. Replace if necessary to prevent slipping and floor scratches.
WARNING! Do not stand, sit, or place excessive weight on the stand or basin.
