Safety Information

Read all instructions before installation and use.

  1. Electrical Safety: Install the transformer in a well-ventilated area. Do not cover. Ensure the power outlet is easily accessible.
  2. Installation Location: For indoor use only. Do not install in damp locations, near water sources, or inside fully enclosed cabinets without ventilation.
  3. Handling: Do not bend the LED strips sharply (minimum bend radius as specified). Do not puncture or cut the strips except at marked cutting points.
  4. Power: Use only the provided IKEA transformer. Do not connect to other power sources.
  5. Maintenance: Always disconnect from power before cleaning or attempting any maintenance.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock. Installation should be performed by a person familiar with low-voltage electrical systems if unsure. Keep out of reach of children during installation.

Package Contents

CAUTION! Check all contents before starting. Do not discard packaging until installation is complete and successful. Contact IKEA for missing parts.

Installation

Plan your layout before attaching lights. Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and flat.

  1. Prepare the Surface: Clean the mounting area inside the cabinet with a mild cleaner. Let it dry completely.
  2. Mount the Transformer: Place the transformer in a suitable location (e.g., inside a cabinet, behind furniture) with access to a power outlet and adequate air circulation. Secure if necessary.
  3. Position the Lights: Decide where to place the LED strips/bars for optimal illumination. Common locations are under upper cabinets, along shelf edges, or at the top of display cabinets.
  4. Attach the Lights:
    • Adhesive Method: Peel off the backing from the adhesive tape and firmly press the light strip/bar onto the surface. Hold for 30 seconds.
    • Bracket Method: Use the provided screws to attach mounting brackets to the cabinet, then snap or slide the light unit into place.
  5. Make Connections: Connect the light strip/bar cable to the transformer output cable. Connect multiple lights using the connector cables if applicable. Ensure all connections are secure.
  6. Connect to Power: Plug the transformer into a standard wall outlet.

Tip: Do not stretch the LED strips. Cut only at the marked cutting lines if you need a shorter length.

First-Time Setup & Operation

Once installed and powered, test the system.

  1. Power On: Plug in the transformer. A small indicator light on the transformer may illuminate.
  2. Control the Lights:
    • Touch Control: Briefly touch the sensor area (on the light strip or transformer) to turn On/Off. Touch and hold to dim.
    • Remote Control: Point the remote at the receiver (usually on the transformer or first light unit). Use the ON/OFF, DIM (+/-), and MODE buttons.
  3. Adjust Brightness: Cycle through brightness levels using the dim function until satisfied.
  4. Final Check: Ensure all connected lights are working and that no cables are pinched or strained.

CAUTION! Do not overload the transformer by connecting more light units than specified in the manual.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

  3. Push connectors together firmly until they click or are fully seated.
  4. All connected lights will be controlled simultaneously by the single touch point or remote.

Tip: Plan the cable routing to be neat and hidden. Use cable clips if necessary.

Care & Cleaning

Always disconnect from power before cleaning.

  1. Lights: Wipe the diffuser surface with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  2. Transformer & Cables: Dust with a dry cloth. Ensure vents are not blocked.
  3. Adhesive: If adhesion fails, use a strong double-sided tape suitable for electronics to re-mount. Do not use liquid glues.

CAUTION! Never immerse any part of the lighting system in water or other liquids.
