Assembly Instructions

Follow steps in order. Estimated assembly time: 30-45 minutes.

  1. Prepare: Unpack all parts. Identify using the parts list. Have a screwdriver and hammer ready.
  2. Attach Back Panel: Place side panels (A & B) flat. Insert wooden dowels (G) into pre-drilled holes on side panels. Align back panel (C) and press firmly to connect dowels.
  3. Secure Frame: Turn the frame to stand upright. Insert and tighten cam lock nuts (H) into the side panels from the back to secure the back panel.

Installation & Mounting

CRITICAL STEP: To prevent tip-over accidents, this furniture MUST be attached to the wall.

  1. Position the assembled frame in its desired permanent location against the wall.
  2. Locate the solid wall studs using a stud finder.
  3. Use the provided wall attachment device (J). Attach the bracket to the frame using the included screws.
  4. Mark the screw holes on the wall through the bracket. Drill pilot holes into the wall stud(s).
  5. Secure the bracket to the wall stud(s) with appropriate screws (not always included; check your hardware).
  6. Ensure the frame cannot be pulled away from the wall.

CAUTION! If you cannot secure the furniture to a wall, do not use it. The wall attachment device is designed for drywall/plaster walls with wood studs.

Using with TROFAST Boxes

This frame is designed for use with IKEA TROFAST storage boxes (sold separately).

  1. Box Compatibility: Compatible with most TROFAST box sizes (e.g., 44x30 cm, 44x60 cm).
  2. Installing Boxes: Simply slide the box into the frame from the front, resting it on the shelf support rails.
  3. Adjusting Shelves: To change box height, remove all boxes, lift and remove the shelf support rails, and reinsert them into a different set of slots on the side panels.
  4. Weight Distribution: Place heavier items in bottom boxes. Do not overload boxes beyond the frame's per-shelf weight limit.
  5. Child Safety: For toy storage, ensure boxes are not overfilled, making them too heavy for a child to pull out.

Care & Maintenance

Clean with a damp cloth wrung out in a mild soap solution. Wipe dry immediately.

DO NOT:

Inspection: Periodically check the tightness of all screws and the security of the wall attachment.
