Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before assembly. Ensure a safe workspace.

  1. Work Area: Assemble on a clean, flat, protected surface to avoid scratching parts.
  2. Lifting: The assembled drawer is moderately heavy; lift with your legs, not your back.
  3. Children & Pets: Keep small parts away during assembly to prevent choking hazards.
  4. Hardware: Do not overtighten screws; this can strip the particleboard.
  5. Final Check: Ensure all connections are secure and the drawer operates smoothly before use.

WARNING! Do not stand or sit on the drawer. It is designed for storage only.

Step-by-Step Assembly

Follow the numerical order shown in the included pictorial guide. Do not fully tighten screws until step is complete.

  1. Attach Side Panels to Front: Insert dowels into the front panel. Align side panels and secure with cam lock screws. Hand-tighten only.
  2. Install Drawer Bottom: Slide the fiberboard bottom panel into the grooves on the front and side panels. It should lie flat.
  3. Attach Back Panel: Align the back panel with the side panels and bottom groove. Secure with cam lock screws.
  4. Final Tightening: Go back and fully tighten all cam lock screws. Ensure the drawer is square.
  5. Attach Glide Wheels (if not pre-attached): Screw the wheels onto the bottom rear corners of the drawer back panel.

CAUTION! Handle panels with care to avoid chipping the edges.

Installation into Bed Frame

The drawer is designed to slide into the designated space under the SONGESAND bed frame.

  1. Mount Glide Rails: Using the provided screws, attach the metal glide rails to the inside of the bed frame's side supports. Ensure they are level and parallel.
  2. Insert Drawer: Tilt the drawer slightly, hook the front wheels onto the front of the rails, then lower the back wheels onto the rails.
  3. Test Slide: Gently push and pull the drawer. It should glide smoothly without catching or wobbling.
  4. Optional Handle: If using a handle, attach it to the drawer front with the provided screws.

Tip: If the drawer binds, check that the rails are straight and the drawer is square.

Drawer Adjustment & Alignment

If the drawer is uneven, sticks, or doesn't close fully, minor adjustments can be made.

IssueAdjustment Method
Drawer sticks or dragsCheck rails for debris. Loosen rail mounting screws slightly, realign, and retighten.
Drawer is uneven (front higher/lower)Adjust the glide wheels on the back panel; most models allow for height adjustment by turning the wheel bracket.
Gap between drawer front and bed frameEnsure the bed frame is on a level surface. Adjust the front stops on the glide rails if available.
Drawer wobbles side-to-sideTighten all cam locks in the drawer box. Ensure glide rails are securely fastened to the bed.

Weight Capacity & Limitations

WARNING! Exceeding the weight limit can damage the drawer, glides, and bed frame.

Care & Cleaning

To maintain appearance and function.

  1. Surface: Wipe with a damp, soft cloth. Dry immediately.
  2. Stains: Use mild soapy water. Never use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or solvents.
  3. Glide Mechanism: Periodically vacuum dust from the rails. A light application of silicone-based lubricant can be used on metal glide parts if they become noisy (do not use oil or grease).
  4. Interior: Line the drawer bottom with fabric or paper to protect it.

CAUTION! Avoid excessive moisture. Do not steam clean.

Disassembly & Moving

To move or store the drawer unit.

  1. Empty the drawer completely.
  2. Pull drawer out to the stop, lift the front slightly, and pull forward to disengage from the glide rails.
  3. To fully disassemble, reverse the assembly steps by loosening the cam locks.
  4. Keep all hardware in a labeled bag taped to one of the panels.
  5. Protect panels with blankets or cardboard during transport to prevent scratches.
