Read all instructions before assembly. Ensure a safe working environment.
- Work Area: Assemble on a clean, flat, protected surface to avoid scratches.
- Lifting: The underframe is heavy; use two people for handling to prevent injury.
- Tools: Use correct tools as specified. Do not overtighten screws.
- Stability: Ensure all connections are tight and the frame is level before mounting the table top.
- Children & Pets: Keep small parts away during assembly to avoid choking hazards.
WARNING! Failure to follow instructions may result in instability, leading to property damage or personal injury.
Tools Required
Tools not included. You will need:
- Phillips screwdriver (size #2)
- Adjustable wrench or socket set (10mm)
- Level (for final adjustment)
- Soft mallet (optional, for alignment)
Assembly Instructions
Follow these steps to assemble the underframe.
- Unpack: Remove all parts from packaging and lay them out. Check against the parts list.
- Attach Feet: Screw the four adjustable feet into the threaded inserts at each corner of the main beam. Hand-tighten initially.
- Position Brackets: Align the mounting brackets along the top of the beam according to your table top dimensions. Use the pre-drilled holes as a guide.
- Secure Brackets: Using the provided M6 screws, attach the brackets to the beam. Tighten firmly but do not strip the threads.
- Initial Leveling: Stand the frame upright on a flat floor. Adjust the feet by turning them until the frame sits without rocking.
Tip: Do not fully tighten the feet until the table top is mounted and final leveling is complete.
Mounting the Table Top
How to securely attach your table top to the SEFAST underframe.
- Prepare Top: Place your table top upside down on a soft, protected surface (e.g., blanket or cardboard).
- Position Frame: Carefully place the assembled underframe onto the bottom of the table top, centered according to your design.
- Mark Holes: Through the holes in the mounting brackets, mark the drilling points on the underside of the table top with a pencil.
- Drill Pilot Holes: Using an appropriate drill bit (usually 5mm for M6 screws), drill pilot holes at the marked points. Depth should be slightly less than the screw length.
- Attach Frame: Align the frame again and secure it to the table top using the remaining screws through the brackets into the pilot holes. Tighten evenly in a cross pattern.
- Flip Table: With assistance, carefully flip the table upright.
CAUTION! Ensure the table top is suitable for the underframe's dimensions and weight capacity. The frame must be centered to ensure stability.
Leveling & Adjustment
Final steps to ensure a stable, wobble-free table.
- Place the table in its final location.
- Use a spirit level placed across the table top in multiple directions.
- Adjust the feet by turning them clockwise to lower that corner or counter-clockwise to raise it.
- Re-check the level after each adjustment.
- Once level, use a wrench to gently secure the lock nuts (if present) on the feet to prevent them from turning accidentally.
Note: The rubber pads on the feet protect floors and provide grip. Ensure they are clean and intact.

Troubleshooting
| Issue | Possible Cause | Solution |
| Table wobbles | Uneven floor; feet not adjusted; loose screws | Re-level using the adjustable feet. Check and tighten all frame and bracket screws. |
| Screws won't tighten | Stripped threads; misaligned holes | Ensure pilot holes are correct size. Do not force. If threads are stripped, use a slightly larger screw or thread insert. |
| Frame seems unstable | Brackets not properly secured; exceeded weight limit | Verify brackets are firmly attached to both frame and table top. Ensure load is within 50kg limit and evenly distributed. |
| Scratches on floor | Missing or damaged rubber foot pads | Inspect all four rubber pads. Replace if necessary. Felt pads can be added for extra protection. |
| Parts missing | Packaging error | Contact IKEA customer service with your product number (094.815.37) and receipt. |
