Assembly Instructions
Follow steps in order. Allow approximately 60-90 minutes for assembly.
- Prepare: Unpack all parts and hardware. Identify each component using the included guide.
- Connect side and bottom panels: Insert dowels into side panels. Align with holes in the bottom panel and secure using cam locks.
- Attach top panel: Lift and align the top panel with the side panels. Secure with dowels and cam locks.
- Install back panel: Lay the frame face down on a protected surface. Position the back panel and secure it with screws into the pre-drilled holes along the perimeter.
- Attach adjustable feet: Screw the adjustable feet into the bottom of the bottom panel.
- Stand the frame upright: Carefully lift the assembled frame with help and place it in its desired location.
Tip: Do not fully tighten cam locks until all panels are aligned.
Installation and Mounting
Securing the wardrobe to the wall is mandatory.
- Position the wardrobe in its final location, ensuring it is level using the adjustable feet.
- Locate the solid wall stud(s) behind the intended position.
- Use the provided wall attachment fittings and screws. Attach the fittings to the top rear of the wardrobe frame as indicated in the pre-drilled holes.
- Drive screws through the fittings and into the wall stud(s). Ensure they are tight and secure.
- Check stability by gently trying to tip the wardrobe forward. It should not move.
CAUTION! If you cannot locate a stud, use appropriate wall anchors suitable for the wall material and the weight of the fully loaded wardrobe.
Interior Configuration
The PAX system is highly customizable. Use IKEA KOMPLEMENT interior fittings.
- Shelves: Adjustable height. Place shelf supports into desired holes on side panels and rest shelf on top.
- Clothing rail: For hanging clothes. Install rail supports and slide the rail into place.
- Drawers: Requires separate KOMPLEMENT drawer frames. Follow specific drawer assembly instructions.
- Baskets/Shoe racks: Various accessories can be mounted using the standard hole system.
Note: Distribute weight evenly. Heavier items should be placed on lower shelves or hanging areas.
Door Installation (Optional)
Doors are sold separately. Ensure you have the correct size for the PAX 091.248.26 frame.
- Attach hinge plates to the door panel according to the door's instructions.
- With help, hold the door against the frame, aligning the hinges with the pre-drilled holes on the side panel.
- Insert and tighten the screws to secure the hinges to the frame.
