Safety Instructions

WARNING! Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or damage.

  1. Two-person assembly: The shelf frame is large and heavy. Always use two people for lifting and assembly.
  2. Secure mounting: Must be mounted to a solid wall (concrete, brick, or studs). Do not mount to plasterboard alone.
  3. Check wall integrity: Ensure wall can support the shelf's maximum load (see section 7).
  4. Keep children away: Keep children and pets away during assembly to prevent accidents.
  5. Use correct tools: Using improper tools may damage parts or cause injury.

Step-by-Step Assembly

Assemble the shelf unit on a soft, clean surface (e.g., carpet or blanket) to prevent scratches.

  1. Join side panels: Insert wooden dowels into pre-drilled holes on the side panels. Align with the top and bottom panels.
  2. Secure corners: Insert cam lock screws into the designated holes on the side panels. Turn the cam lock nuts clockwise with a screwdriver until tight. Do not overtighten.
  3. Attach back panel: If included, slide the back panel into the grooves on the frame. Secure with provided nails or clips.
  4. Install shelf supports: Insert the metal shelf support pins into the desired height positions on the inner sides of the frame.
  5. Place shelves: Gently lower the adjustable shelves onto the support pins. Ensure they are level and secure.

Tip: Do not fully tighten all screws until the entire frame is assembled to allow for adjustments.

Wall Mounting

CAUTION! This is a critical step. An improperly mounted shelf can fall and cause injury or damage.

  1. Locate studs: Use a stud finder to locate solid wood studs or ensure you are drilling into concrete/brick.
  2. Mark bracket positions: Hold the assembled shelf against the wall at the desired height. Use a level to ensure it is perfectly horizontal. Lightly mark the wall through the bracket screw holes.
  3. Drill pilot holes: At each mark, drill a 6mm hole to the depth of the wall plug. Clean out dust.
  4. Insert wall plugs: Tap the provided wall plugs into the holes until flush with the wall.
  5. Attach brackets: Align the mounting brackets with the holes. Insert and tighten the screws firmly into the wall plugs using a screwdriver.
  6. Hang the shelf: With help, lift the shelf unit and hook it onto the mounted brackets. There is usually a keyhole slot on the back of the shelf. Ensure it clicks into place and cannot be lifted off easily.
  7. Final check: Gently pull the shelf downwards to test stability. Re-tighten all frame screws if necessary.

Care & Cleaning

To maintain the appearance and longevity of your LIATORP shelf:

  1. Dust regularly: Use a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. A microfiber cloth is ideal.
  2. For stains: Use a mild soap solution. Wipe with a damp cloth and immediately dry with a soft cloth.
  3. Avoid: Abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, solvents (acetone, alcohol), or excessive water.
  4. Protect from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent fading or warping.

CAUTION! Never use steam cleaners or high-pressure washers.
