- Wind: Close the umbrella and lock the tilt mechanism in high winds or when unattended.
- Assembly: Assemble on a soft, clean surface to avoid scratching parts. Two people are recommended.
- Placement: Place on a flat, level surface. Do not use on slopes or unstable ground.
- Children: Do not let children play on or climb the frame.
Assembly Instructions
Follow steps in order. Do not fully tighten bolts until instructed.
- Attach Base Plate: Place the main column upright. Slide the base plate (C) over the bottom of the column. Secure with the provided large bolt and washer. Tighten with the included wrench.
- Attach Transport Wheel: Position the wheel assembly (E) onto the axle on the base plate. Secure with the retaining clip from the hardware pack.
- Install Tilt Housing: Slide the tilt mechanism housing (B) onto the top of the main column. Align the holes and secure with the two long screws and washers from the hardware pack. Do not fully tighten yet.
- Insert Crank Handle: Locate the crank hole on the tilt housing. Insert the crank handle (F) and turn clockwise to ensure it engages. It can be removed for storage.
- Final Tightening: Ensure all parts are aligned correctly. Fully tighten all bolts and screws using the provided wrench and screwdriver.
Tip: Keep the hardware pack nearby until assembly is complete.
Installing the Umbrella
Compatible with standard market umbrellas with a 38 mm (approx. 1.5 inch) diameter center pole.
- Prepare the Frame: Ensure the tilt mechanism is in the upright, locked position.
- Insert Umbrella: Remove your umbrella's original base. Carefully lift the umbrella and lower its pole through the hole in the top of the tilt housing and down through the main column.
- Secure Umbrella: The umbrella pole should rest on the base plate inside the column. Use the included umbrella pole set screw (found in hardware pack) on the tilt housing to lightly secure the pole and prevent rotation. Do not over-tighten.
- Add Weight: Fill the two fabric weight bags (D) with dry sand or small pebbles. Place them evenly on the base plate, on either side of the column.
Operation & Adjustment
Opening/Closing Umbrella: Use the crank handle. Turn clockwise to open, counter-clockwise to close.
Tilt Adjustment:
- Locate the tilt lock lever on the side of the tilt housing.
- Pull the lever outward to unlock the tilt mechanism.
- Gently push or pull the umbrella canopy to the desired angle.
- Release the lever to lock the tilt in place. Ensure it clicks securely.
Moving the Frame: Tilt the entire frame back using the handle at the top of the column to engage the transport wheel. Roll to the new location, then lower it back down.
Care & Maintenance
Regular care ensures longevity.
- Cleaning: Wipe the steel frame with a soft, damp cloth. Use mild soap if needed. Dry thoroughly.
- Moving Parts: Periodically check the tightness of bolts and screws, especially after initial use.
- Crank Mechanism: If cranking becomes stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the gears inside the tilt housing.
- Avoid: Abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh chemicals.
Storage & Winterizing
For Long-Term Storage or Winter:
- Remove the umbrella from the frame.
- Empty the sand/weight bags and store them dry.
- Clean the frame as described in Section 7.
- If possible, disassemble the frame (reverse of assembly steps) and store in a cool, dry place.
- If storing assembled, cover with a protective cover and store indoors or in a sheltered area.

Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Possible Cause | Corrective Action |
| Frame wobbles or tips | Base not filled enough or on uneven ground | Add more weight to bags (sand/pebbles). Ensure frame is on a flat surface. |
| Umbrella pole won't fit | Pole diameter too large | This frame is for 38mm poles only. Verify your umbrella's pole size. |
| Crank handle is hard to turn | Umbrella mechanism issue or lack of lubrication | Ensure your umbrella opens freely on its own first. Apply silicone lubricant to frame's crank gears if needed. |
| Tilt mechanism won't lock | Lever not fully engaged or obstructed | Check for debris. Ensure umbrella weight is not forcing the tilt. Operate lever firmly. |
| Rust spots appearing | Finish damaged or long-term moisture exposure | Clean area, dry thoroughly. Touch up with matching outdoor paint to prevent spread. |
