Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps to assemble the light fixture before mounting.

  1. Lay all parts on a clean, soft surface to avoid scratches.
  2. If applicable, attach the suspension cord/chain to the canopy using the provided locking mechanism.
  3. Connect the fixture's wires to the terminal block or leads, if pre-assembly is required.
  4. Secure the shade or diffuser to the main body. It may click or screw into place.
  5. Do not fully tighten all screws until the fixture is aligned during installation.

CAUTION! Handle glass or plastic shades with care to avoid breakage.

Installation & Mounting

Installing the fixture to your ceiling or wall.

  1. Turn OFF Power: Switch off electricity at the main fuse box/circuit breaker.
  2. Mount Bracket: Attach the mounting bracket to the electrical box in the ceiling/wall using the provided screws.
  3. Connect Wires: Connect the fixture's wires to your household wires: Live (brown/black) to Live, Neutral (blue/white) to Neutral, Earth (green/yellow) to Earth (if present). Use wire connectors and secure them.
  4. Attach Fixture: Lift the fixture and align it with the bracket. Secure it with the provided screws or by twisting onto the bracket.
  5. Final Check: Ensure all connections are tight and no wires are pinched. Install the bulb(s).
  6. Restore Power: Turn the power back on and test the light with the wall switch.

Operation

Your GRIMSÅS light is operated via your existing wall switch. For models with a pull chain or dimmer:

Bulb Replacement

Always turn off power and let the bulb cool before replacement.

  1. Ensure the light is OFF and cool to the touch.
  2. Depending on the shade, you may need to gently remove it by unscrewing or unclipping.
  3. Unscrew the old bulb counterclockwise.
  4. Screw in a new bulb of the correct type (see Specifications) clockwise until snug. Do not overtighten.
  5. Replace the shade and restore power.

Recommended Bulb: E27 base, Max 13W LED (equivalent to 100W incandescent), 2700K for warm white light.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug/turn off power at the breaker before cleaning.

  1. Use a dry, soft microfiber cloth to dust the fixture regularly.
  2. For plastic or glass shades, a slightly damp cloth can be used. Dry immediately.
  3. Do not use abrasive cleaners, chemicals, or scouring pads.
  4. Never immerse the fixture or any electrical parts in water.
