Safety Instructions
Read all instructions before assembly. Keep children and pets away from the work area.
- Lifting: The cabinet and sink are heavy. Use two people to lift and position to avoid injury or damage.
- Stability: The cabinet must be securely attached to the wall to prevent tipping, especially when the drawer is fully extended or weight is applied.
- Tools: Use the correct tools. Wear safety glasses if drilling.
- Plumbing & Electricity: Ensure water supply is turned off before connecting plumbing. If installing near electrical outlets, ensure no cables are damaged during installation.
WARNING! Failure to secure the cabinet to the wall can result in serious injury or death from tipping.
Tools Required
You will need the following tools (not included):
- Phillips screwdriver
- Hex key (Allen wrench) - often included with IKEA furniture
- Hammer (for tapping dowels)
- Level
- Pencil
- Drill with appropriate bits for wall mounting (if not using existing studs)
- Measuring tape
- Adjustable wrench or pliers (for plumbing connection)
Assembly Steps
Assemble the cabinet on a soft, clean surface to avoid scratches.
- Step 1 - Attach Feet: Screw the four adjustable feet (HW-103) into the pre-drilled holes on the bottom of the side panels.
- Step 2 - Connect Side Panels & Back: Insert wood dowels (HW-102) into the side panels. Connect the back panel (100003) to the side panels. Secure using cam lock screws (HW-101). Tighten with a screwdriver.
- Step 3 - Install Bottom Shelf: Place the bottom shelf (100004) onto the supports inside the cabinet frame. It may click into place or require securing with screws.
- Step 4 - Install Top Frame: Attach the top frame/countertop support (100005) to the top of the side panels using provided screws.
- Step 5 - Install Drawer Runners: Attach the drawer runners (HW-105) to the inside of the cabinet according to the markings. Ensure they are level and at the same height on both sides.
- Step 6 - Assemble & Install Drawers/Doors: Assemble the drawer boxes if required. Attach the drawer fronts (100006) to the drawer boxes. Slide the drawers onto the runners. For door models, attach hinges to the door and then to the cabinet frame.
Tip: Do not fully tighten all screws until the entire frame is squared up. Check for squareness by measuring diagonally from corner to corner; measurements should be equal.
Installation to Wall & Plumbing
Wall Mounting (CRITICAL):
- Position the assembled cabinet in its final location.
- Using a level, ensure the cabinet is level from front to back and side to side. Adjust the feet as needed.
- Mark the positions of the wall mounting brackets (HW-104) on the wall through the holes in the top rear of the cabinet.
- Move the cabinet aside. Drill pilot holes at the marked spots, ensuring you hit wall studs for a secure hold. If no stud is available, use appropriate wall anchors for your wall type (drywall, tile, etc.).
- Secure the mounting brackets to the wall with long screws.
- Lift the cabinet back into place and hook it onto the mounted brackets. Secure it according to the instructions.
Sink & Plumbing:
- Place the sink basin (100007) into the cutout on the countertop (if countertop is separate, follow its manual).
- Apply a bead of silicone sealant (not included) under the rim of the sink before setting it in place for a watertight seal.
- Connect the drain and faucet according to the faucet's instructions and local plumbing codes. Connect the P-trap to the waste pipe.
- Connect the water supply lines to the faucet valves. Turn the water supply back on slowly and check for leaks.
Adjustments & Leveling
- Leveling: Use the adjustable feet to compensate for uneven floors. Place a level on the countertop and turn the feet until the bubble is centered.
- Drawer Alignment: If drawers are uneven or stick, adjust the screws on the drawer runners. Most runners allow for height and depth adjustment.
- Door Alignment: Doors can be adjusted up/down and left/right by loosening the screws on the hinges.
Care & Maintenance
To ensure long life and appearance of your GODMORGON sink cabinet:
- Cleaning: Wipe surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Dry immediately with a soft cloth.
- Avoid: Do not use abrasive pads, scouring powders, or harsh chemicals (acetone, bleach). Avoid leaving standing water on surfaces.
- Sink Basin: Clean with standard non-abrasive bathroom cleaners. Avoid heavy objects that could chip or crack the surface.
- Hardware: Periodically check that screws and brackets are tight, especially after initial assembly.
CAUTION! Never use a steam cleaner on the cabinet. Moisture can damage the material over time.
