Assembly Steps
Assemble on a soft surface (e.g., carpet) to avoid scratching parts. Follow numerical order on instruction sheet.
- Frame: Connect left and right side panels to the back panel using provided screws and cam locks. Tighten with Allen key.
- Drawer Slides: Attach runner halves to the inner sides of the frame as marked. Ensure they are level and at equal height.
- Drawers: Attach the other half of the runners to the drawer baskets. Slide drawers into the frame to test fit.
- Drawer Fronts: Attach drawer fronts to the baskets using the screws from inside the drawer. Align carefully before tightening.
- Feet: Screw adjustable feet into the bottom of the frame at all four corners.
Tip: Do not fully tighten all screws until the entire frame is squared up.
Installation with GALANT Desk
This unit is designed to attach underneath a GALANT desk frame for an integrated look.
- Position the assembled drawer unit under the desk in the desired location (left or right side).
- Using the provided mounting brackets, align the unit with the pre-drilled holes on the underside of the desk frame.
- Secure the unit to the desk frame using the specified screws. Tighten firmly.
- Check stability. The desk and unit should not wobble. Adjust feet if necessary.
Note: The unit can also be used as a standalone piece. Ensure it is placed against a wall or secured if used standalone.
Adjustments & Leveling
Use the adjustable feet to stabilize the unit on uneven floors.
- Place the unit in its final position.
- Check for wobble by gently rocking it.
- Turn the feet clockwise to lower that corner, or counter-clockwise to raise it.
- Repeat until the unit is stable and does not rock.
Tip: A small spirit level can help ensure the unit is perfectly horizontal.
Using the Drawers
- Opening/Closing: Pull drawer handle smoothly. The ball-bearing runners should provide quiet, full-extension operation.
- Stopping: Drawers have a stop mechanism to prevent them from being pulled out completely accidentally.
- Weight Distribution: Place heavier items in the bottom drawer. Distribute weight evenly from side to side.
- Organization: Use IKEA drawer organizers (sold separately) to compartmentalize contents.
Weight Capacity & Limitations
- Max Load per Drawer: 11 lbs (5 kg).
- Total Load for Unit: 44 lbs (20 kg) distributed across all drawers.
- Material: Steel frame, mesh/sheet metal drawers.
