  2. Assemble on a soft, clean surface (e.g., carpet, blanket) to avoid scratching parts.
  3. Do not stand or sit on the unit. Maximum load per shelf: 55 lbs (25 kg).
  4. Ensure the frame is placed on a level, stable floor.

WARNING! Serious or fatal crushing injuries can occur from furniture tip-over. Always secure this furniture to the wall using the provided anti-tip device.

Assembly Steps

Follow the numerical order in the included pictorial guide. Key steps are summarized below.

  1. Prepare Parts: Lay out all panels with the finished side facing down.
  2. Connect Side & Bottom Panel: Insert cam lock dowels into the bottom panel. Align with holes on the side panels and tighten cam locks clockwise using a screwdriver.
  3. Attach Top Panel: Connect the top panel to the side panels using the same cam lock method.
  4. Install Back Panel: Place the fiberboard back panel into the groove on the rear of the frame. Secure it using the provided screws.
  5. Insert Shelf: Place the adjustable shelf onto the shelf support pins at your desired height.

Tip: Do not fully tighten cam locks until all connections are made to allow for adjustments.

Wall Attachment

THIS STEP IS MANDATORY FOR SAFETY.

  1. Position the assembled frame in its desired permanent location against the wall.
  2. Locate the solid wall stud(s) using a stud finder. The frame must be anchored into wood or masonry studs.
  3. Attach the provided wall bracket to the wall stud using the long screws and wall plugs. Ensure it is level.
  4. Attach the corresponding bracket to the top rear of the BESTÅ frame using the shorter screws.
  5. Lift the frame and hook the frame bracket onto the wall bracket. Ensure it is securely engaged.

CAUTION! If you cannot locate a stud, use appropriate heavy-duty wall anchors designed for your wall type (not included).

Adjusting Shelves

The shelf height can be customized using the pre-drilled holes and shelf support pins.

  1. Remove the shelf by lifting it straight up.
  2. Reposition the metal shelf support pins into the desired set of holes on the inner side panels.
  3. Gently lower the shelf onto the four support pins until it rests securely.

Note: Ensure the shelf is level and all four pins are properly seated in the holes.

Adding Doors & Drawers

The BESTÅ frame is compatible with a wide range of BESTÅ series fronts (sold separately).

Always refer to the specific installation manual for the door or drawer system you purchase.

Care & Cleaning

Proper care will maintain the appearance and longevity of your BESTÅ frame.

  1. Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
  2. For stains, dampen the cloth with a mild soapy solution (water and a pH-neutral cleaner). Wring it out thoroughly before wiping.
  3. Wipe dry immediately with a clean, dry cloth.
  4. Avoid: Abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, solvents (acetone, alcohol), or excessive water.

CAUTION! Never allow liquid to pool on surfaces or seep into edges, as this can cause the particleboard to swell.
