Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before assembly. Use proper tools and follow steps carefully.

  1. Work Area: Assemble on a clean, flat, protected surface to avoid scratches.
  2. Tool Safety: Use correct screwdriver; avoid over-tightening screws.
  3. Wall Mounting: Ensure wall is structurally sound. Use wall anchors if not mounting into studs.
  4. Weight Limit: Do not exceed maximum load capacity (see section 5).
  5. Children: Keep small parts away from children during assembly.

WARNING! Improper mounting can cause shelf to fall, resulting in injury or damage. Always mount into wall studs or use appropriate anchors for your wall type.

Assembly Instructions

Assemble the shelf before mounting to the wall.

  1. Attach Brackets: Place the main shelf board face down on a soft surface. Align the two metal brackets with the pre-drilled holes on the back side of the shelf.
  2. Secure Brackets: Using the provided wood screws and Allen key, screw each bracket firmly to the shelf. Ensure brackets are straight and tight.
  3. Check Alignment: Turn the shelf over and verify brackets are parallel and do not protrude beyond the shelf edges.

Tip: Do not fully tighten screws until all are started to allow for minor adjustments.

Mounting to Wall

This is a critical step. Ensure you have a stud finder, level, pencil, and drill.

  1. Locate Studs: Use a stud finder to locate wall studs. Mark their centers lightly with a pencil. For drywall without studs, you must use the provided wall anchors.
  2. Position Shelf: Decide on mounting height. Hold the assembled shelf against the wall, using a level to ensure it is perfectly horizontal. Lightly mark the wall through the bracket screw holes.
  3. Drill Pilot Holes: If mounting into studs, drill pilot holes slightly smaller than the wall screws at your marks. If using anchors, drill holes to the size specified on the anchor packaging, insert anchors flush with wall.
  4. Mount Shelf: Align brackets with holes. Insert and tighten wall screws through brackets into wall (or anchors). Ensure shelf is secure and does not wobble.
  5. Final Check: Gently pull downward on the shelf to test stability. Re-tighten screws if necessary.

CAUTION! The shelf must be mounted horizontally. An uneven mount can cause items to slide off and make the unit unstable.

Care & Maintenance

Proper care will maintain the appearance and longevity of your book display.

  1. Cleaning: Wipe with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or chemical solvents.
  2. Moisture: Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight to prevent warping or fading.
  3. Loading: Distribute weight evenly. Avoid placing all weight at the front edge of the shelf.
  4. Periodic Check: Every few months, check the tightness of all screws and the stability of the wall mount.

CAUTION! Never stand or sit on the shelf. It is not designed to hold personal weight.
