Unpack all parts and check against the included parts list. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach the arm: Insert the arm into the base or clamp assembly. Tighten the securing screw or knob firmly.
  2. Attach the lamp head: Connect the lamp head to the end of the arm. Ensure the joint is secure and allows rotation.
  3. Route the cord: Guide the power cord along the arm, using any clips or channels provided, to keep it tidy.
  4. Final check: Ensure all screws and joints are tight, but do not over-tighten.

WARNING! Assemble the lamp on a stable surface. Do not force parts together. If a part is damaged or missing, do not use the lamp.

Installation & Mounting

Choose a suitable location near a power outlet and on a stable surface.

  1. For Clamp Mounting: Open the clamp, position it on the edge of your desk or shelf (ensure thickness is within clamp capacity), and tighten the screw firmly until the lamp is secure and does not wobble.
  2. For Base Mounting: Place the weighted base on a flat, stable surface. Ensure the lamp is not near the edge where it could be knocked over.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC wall outlet.

CAUTION! Do not mount the clamp on unstable, fragile, or overheated surfaces. Ensure the lamp is securely fastened and the cord is not pinched or a tripping hazard.

Specifications

Controls and Operation

Power Switch: Located on the lamp head or inline on the cord. Press or slide to turn the lamp On or Off.

Adjustment: The lamp is designed for manual adjustment. Grip the arm or head and position it as needed. The joints will hold their position once released.

Note: This model does not feature a dimmer. The LED provides a fixed level of brightness.

Adjusting the Lamp

  1. Positioning: Grip the arm firmly near a joint. Move it to the desired height and angle.
  2. Directing Light: Hold the lamp head and rotate or tilt it to focus the light exactly where needed.
  3. Holding Power: If the arm becomes loose over time, locate the adjustment screw or knob at the joint and tighten it slightly. Do not over-tighten.

Tip: Adjust the lamp while it is cool to the touch. Avoid making sharp bends in the arm or forcing it beyond its natural range of motion.

Replacing the Light Source

Important: The ARÖD lamp uses an integrated, non-user-replaceable LED module. If the light fails, the entire lamp head may need to be serviced or replaced.

  1. Unplug the lamp from the electrical outlet and allow it to cool completely.
  2. DO NOT attempt to open the lamp head. This could damage the unit and void the warranty.
  3. For service, contact IKEA customer support (see Warranty & Support section).

WARNING! Never attempt to replace or repair the LED module yourself. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Risk of electric shock.

Safety Information

Read all instructions before use.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug the lamp and allow it to cool before cleaning.

  1. Wipe the metal and plastic surfaces with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.
  2. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemicals.
  3. Ensure no moisture enters the lamp head or switch.
